Residents of Gisagara district have been asked to be vigilant and to support the Police in maintaining their security and ensure people’s growth and development.The call was made on June 19th, 2014 during the official launch of the Police Week program in Gisagara district.
The function was held in Kibirizi sector with the Police force working with local people to make a 600 meters road in Zihare village.
For the Police to be keeping order and maintaining people’s security and get time to work on other projects that develop local people shows so much commitment and patriotism. This was noted by some of the residents who swore to help the police in realizing its projects in the Police Week.
We worked with the police to construct the new road, it was encouraging having them work for our development, we will work with them in building houses for the homeless and vulnerable” said Athanasie Nyiramana a resident.
According to Leandre Karekezi, the mayor of Gisagara district, the projects being realized in Police Week will ensure people’s safety and development.
“When people are living well, they are content and safe. The police is indirectly maintaining people’s security in doing these projects.”
The National Police intends to finish different projects in Gisagara district for the Police Week including building economical charcoal stoves, vegetable gardens, creating new roads and building houses for Rwandans who were evicted from Tanzania.
